Beamz Spoken-Word Perfomance at Belle Foundation for Cultural Development

Becky performs her Beamzpoem, "Starz" at the Belle, San Jose
In October of 2009, Beamz Outreach Manager Becky Byrkit gave a spoken-word performance using the Beamz as her”backup band” to a rapt audience at the Belle Foundation for Cultural Development‘s 11th Annual “Soiree.”
Based in San Jose, this unique organization is dedicated to “actively supporting and promoting the arts, humanities and education, through recognition and encouragement of the creative efforts and visionary ideas demonstrated by individuals in these fields.”
The 18-minute performance, written with Beamzsong “Rastafari,” inspired the gathering of musicians, DJs, educators and occupational therapists working with the elderly in the San Jose-Los Gatos (Northern California) area.
Becky has since presented applications in the language and perfomance arts to educators within the Beamz Outreach program, who have been delighted by the endless and exciting possibilities of merging poetry with the Beamz!
