Jerry Riopelle
As Chief Creative Officer, Jerry leads the content creation for the Beamz Interactive team and product development. As the visionary and inventor of the Beamz, Jerry has taken his 40+ years experience as an accomplished musician, songwriter and producer, and funneled it into the creation of one of the world’s most innovative new products.
Jerry started creating the Beamz music system in 2001 after many years of envisioning an instrument that could activate sound with laser beams. The inspiration for his invention came from a childhood memory being intrigued by and tinkering with the light-activated door announcer at his favorite local ice shop. With Jerry’s passion for making music, he envisioned an instrument that anyone could play, featured many dimensions of sound that always worked together no matter how you combined them, and would provide a new performance element for accomplished musicians like himself. Using his deep understanding of music and assistance from software engineers, Jerry worked daily for years to create the sophisticated, patented system that exists today.
Raised in Tampa, Fla. Jerry moved to Los Angeles to begin his music career in the 1960’s by learning the ropes of independent record production. After playing drums for the Hollywood Argyles he signed as a staff song writer for Screen Gems. Upon hearing a single Jerry had written and produced with Clydie King titled, “The Thrill is Gone,” Phil Spector hired Jerry as a staff writer and producer for Philles Records.
Jerry soon produced a Top 20 hit, “Home of the Brave,” recorded by Bonnie & The Treasures. He also produced top 40 singles for recording artists April Stevens & Nino Tempo and The Parade. That success earned Jerry a job as producer at A&M Records as well as a staff writing position at Irving Music. During that time he wrote and produced for The We Five, Brewer & Shipley, The Parade, Shango, and had songs covered by Herb Alpert, Leon Russell, and later, Kenny Loggins, Rita Coolidge, Meat Loaf and many others. During his years in Hollywood, Jerry also wrote numerous songs and musical pieces for films and television shows.

Tommy Gardner
Tom is the founder of Gardner Real Estate. As a commercial real estate entrepreneur, broker and investor since 1983, Tom seeks out opportunities to fund and invest in innovative technology.
After graduating college, Tom never intended to go into real estate. He received his securities license and went into the commodity futures business. A year later, he began a new career in real estate development and investment in Dallas. An amazing market when he began, Dallas quickly turned into one of the most depressed economies in the mid to late ’80s. Tom spent a lot of time working foreclosures, bankruptcies and restructuring deals – he sold all types of real estate, mostly with a restructuring component to them.
In 1993, Tom started Gardner Real Estate with a focus on entitlement work, repositioning land in growth areas for appropriate usage. Over the past 18 years, Tom has built a track record of doing creative deals in different market environments. He designed the Villa Pallavicini apartment community, which won the award for Architectural Excellence in the City of Chandler. As a musician himself, he has a passion for making music approachable for all to play. He is a stakeholder and believer in the Beamz product.
Tom has been a member of the ASU Sun Angel Foundation for 12 years, and was the Chairman of the SAF Committee from 2005-2007. The SAFC was the group responsible for staging large fundraising events on behalf of ASU’s scholarship athletes. Tom received a Bachelor of Science degree in General Business Administration from Arizona State University. He also holds a Real Estate Broker’s License in the state of Arizona.
