Beamz Interactive Overview

Beamz Interactive, Inc. has created a new interactive laser controller technology that can be used to develop new market opportunities in a wide variety of music, game, and consumer applications. The Company’s first commercial products can bring music to literally everyone in a manner that has previously not been possible. By simply interrupting one or more laser beams with one’s hands, the user can play a wide range of musical instruments and create great music in conjunction with a background rhythm track of original, popular, disc jockey (DJ) and children’s songs across numerous music genres (e.g., jazz, blues, Hip Hop, rock, classical, Latin, etc.). Beamz allows people that have no previous musical background or training to play and enjoy music within minutes, yet it has the depth to enable accomplished DJs, artists and musicians to perform, compose and create very sophisticated interactive music.

The Company is privately owned and based in Scottsdale, Arizona. It was founded in 2001 by a very talented Arizona musician, Jerry Riopelle, with the vision of bringing the fun and joy of music to everyone. The technology was perfected in 2008 and 2009, with an initial product commercialized in late 2009. The technology is well protected by a family of broad patents and patents pending that cover the laser hardware, the interactive music software, and a variety of interactive and electronic music know-how & techniques. In addition, the Company files and owns a variety of software & music content copyright and trademarks.

The Company’s second-generation product entered production in late 2010, and was formally launched at both the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) and the NAMM Music Industry Show in January 2011, where it received an overwhelming positive response – including being chosen as one of top five coolest products at CES by Billboard.com and one of the Best of CES by Leo LePorte on Regis and Kelley. The Company has also won numerous additional awards and recognitions, including the Best of Toy Fair 2011, The Toy Man’s Seal of Approval and one of the “Most Innovative Teaching Tools” at the at the June 2010 Summer NAMM Trade Show by Symphony Publishing, as well as many others. The Company has also received meaningful endorsements and/or music composition contributions from major Grammy and Grammy-nominated artists such as Craig Chaquico, Euge Groove, David Ellefson and Peter Erskine, and such major top 100 DJs as DJ Crème, DJ Flip and DJ Smiley.

Hardware Products – Beamz Interactive’s hardware product offering consists of three major product lines: Beamz Player consumer product family; the Beamz DJ and Pro product family, and Beamz Education and Special Needs product family. The basic hardware for these products has been in full production since late 2010 and has an excellent quality record.

Software Products – Beamz offers several different software upgrade packages, including Beamz Studio Software for artist and Beamz DJ Software which allows the Beamz laser controller to be used to control virtually any DJ software application. Beamz also offers software bundles with leading DJ applications such as PCDJ.

Content Products – The Company has agreements with labels EMI Music Services, Disney, Moog, Blind Pig, Sony, Chrysalis, Harry Fox and others, whereby the Company has licensed the right to utilize a broad range of songs and videos for use on the Beamz. This adds an exciting multi-media video dimension, enabling the user to display the music video on a television or large monitor while playing the Beamz along with the song. The Company’s library includes hundreds of interactive songs which are offered for sale on its web site, and will continue to grow this library via both internal development and third part artist relationships.

The Technology

The Beamz products include laser beams that activate hundreds of instruments, chords, music clips, sounds effects and rhythms. Each laser is programmed to trigger these different melodies, sounds or instruments. When a beam is broken, the Beamz player software program releases a musical sound or expression that is always harmonious to the other sounds so the music is always on key and sounds good.

The backbone of the Beamz music technology includes extensive interactive music software as well as the laser based controller technology. Beamz intellectual property includes multiple patents, patents pending, and trade secrets covering interactive music, software, laser based controllers, gaming applications, and related designs and devices.

The Beamz laser controller technology may be used in many other applications, including gaming, lighting, and virtually any other item that can be computer controlled with a mouse.

A Leader in Interactive Music

Beamz interactive music compositions are creative, dynamic and spontaneous. These compositions are harmoniously designed and structured for players to perform interactive music with limitless possibilities. Unlike traditional music, where a musician plays a song by reading and performing to a defined musical score, interactive music is free flowing – there is no musical score to follow. Players are inspired to interact with the Beamz songs and create unique sounds different from any other type of instrument.
